Did you know certain diffused essential oils have been shown to help with pain management? Our body/mind connection is so amazing! I used this diffuser with some lavender and peppermint oil during my labor and loved the spa-like relaxation it promoted.

These are so important for creating a dim, peaceful environment for birth! Bright hospital lights can send flight or flight parasympathetic signals to your brain and stall labor. I had my doula drape these all over the room to encourage calm and peace.

If you have never heard of a rebozo blanket or its AMAZING uses before and during labor, you have got to check out our Rebozo article here. I spent maybe 7 of my 24 hours of labor with this blanket for pain relief.

The hospital provided us with a lanolin cream but I preferred this Earth Mama nipple butter. At first I thought I would be fine without anything... boy was I wrong. I also used this on my baby's dry wrists and my cracked knuckles.

I didn't bring these to the hospital with me and that is one of my biggest regrets post-partum. The pads they provide after your birth could fit an elephant (and for good reason) but they are so hard to keep in place comfortably. Just trust me and bring your own disposable underwear with you.

I know there is some controversy around postpartum belly wraps, but I loved mine and wish I had started using it sooner. You can read our blog here to see how and when we recommend using it, but those afterbirth cramps and prolapse are no joke, and this definitely added much needed support.

If you end up having a vaginal birth, wiping is the LAST thing you can or want to do the first few days postpartum. Keep one of these bad boys in each bathroom you'll be frequenting to stay clean and fresh.

I actually tried a few different brands and styles of underwear during the postpartum recovery stage, and these were by far my favorite. Not to mention they don't break the bank.

You might already have a yoga ball from your pregnancy (check out our recommended pregnancy products here) but if not, they are an amazing tool in labor! You can read more about the befits and techniques of using a yoga ball during pregnancy and labor in this blog post.

Did you know studies have shown that using water in labor can speed up the first stage of labor and decrease labor pains? Water therapy is actually referred to as the "midwives epidural" because of the amazing benefits it has on the mind and body. Grab some Epsom salt for the labor tub to maximize the benefits.
